City of Toronto Welcomes New Director of Communications
TORONTO, Oct. 10, 2024 – The City of Toronto has officially announced that seasoned professional Diana Maclean Rivilla will assume the role of Director of Communications. Maclean will be leaving her position as director of communications for the City of Hamilton after a decade with the city.
Maclean began her communications career in 2015 as a media relations specialist for the City of Hamilton. Since joining the municipality, she has advanced rapidly in her field. Most recently, she managed communications for Hamilton’s climate action campaigns. “I am forever grateful for my time in Hamilton and am excited to apply my experiences to my new role,” Maclean said in a statement. “It is a privilege to continue working alongside such positive and dedicated individuals.”
The City of Toronto’s interim chief officer of communications, Beth Waldman, expressed her excitement. “We are in an unprecedented time of change, not only in Toronto, but across Canada,” Waldman said in a statement. “It is important that our communication and messaging to citizens is informative and timely in our ever-changing world. I have no doubt that Diana will excel in her role here with us.”
Maclean will assume her new role next week.
